Bio

Sara has earned her RYT 500 designation. She studied under Michelle Young with My Vinyasa practice for her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in 2021 and then completed the Yoga’s Arc 300 Hour YTT in 2023, studying under Kary Sinkule. Sara has also attended trainings on the science behind slow and mindful yoga practices with Kristine Weber of Subtle Yoga.

Sara began practicing yoga in the 1990s but didn’t develop a consistent, daily practice until 2015. Through the years, she has found yoga to be an effective method to not only strengthen and lengthen muscles but to also improve posture, reduce anxiety, improve sleep, alleviate pain, and boost our mood and general outlook. Sara enjoys guiding participants through slow and mindful movement, and her classes are perfect for those seeking a more introspective yoga practice while building strength and improving mobility.

ABOUT ME

I love yoga. I appreciate how my personal asana practice makes me feel strong and steady as well as light and graceful. I also find value in yoga’s insistence on slowing down my movements to match my breath. This is the ultimate form of self-care because in a society that rewards speed, productivity, and busyness (usually at the expense of our physical and mental well-being), it’s validating to know there is value in taking our time and even taking a rest. So my unsolicited advice is to never skip savanasa!

Besides practicing and teaching yoga, I love spending time outdoors with my husband and two kids. We all enjoy mountain biking, and my husband and I have coached our kids’ high school/middle school mountain bike team since 2017. We camp often in our Airstream travel trailer and are always looking for new places to explore.
